Helston Community College, part of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, are seeking a dedicated Food Technician to join our thriving Design & Technology/Food Department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting students’ learning and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our food rooms.About the Role:As our Food Technician, you will:
• Prepare ingredients, equipment and resources for practical food lessons • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised environment, following all hygiene and health & safety requirements • Support teachers during practical sessions, helping students to work safely and confidently • Assist with displays, demonstrations, and wider department activities • Contribute to the positive ethos of the College by supporting student learning and engagement About You: We are looking for someone who: • Is enthusiastic, reliable and highly organised • Can work efficiently in a busy environment • Has good communication skills and enjoys working with young people • Has experience of working in a kitchen, catering, or food preparation environment [desirable, but not essential] • Understands food hygiene practices [training can be provided] If you are ready to inspire and support our students to achieve their full potential, we encourage you to apply.BenefitsAs a leading Academy Trust, we are able to offer our staff a range of continued professional development opportunities alongside family friendly policies and access to the Local Government/Teachers Pension Schemes.
