  • £15.84 per hour (rising to £16.00 per hour from April 2026) plus incentives
  • Full-Time | Permanent
  • ⏰ 7:30am - 7:30pm
  • 3 shifts per week (including alternate weekends) OR 3 shifts one week and 4 the following week


I am currently recruiting for an experienced and confident Senior Care Assistant to join a well-established nursing and care home based in Rushden.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced Senior Care Assistant or a strong Care Assistant ready to step up into a leadership role within a supportive, structured environment.

The home provides personal, nursing and dementia care for 48 residents in a modern, homely setting.

The Role

As Senior Care Assistant, you will take responsibility for leading shifts and ensuring consistently high standards of care delivery. This is a hands-on role combining direct resident care with team leadership and oversight responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents
  • Promoting independence, dignity, choice and respect at all times
  • Leading the shift and supporting care staff on duty
  • Administering and documenting medication rounds accurately, ensuring audit compliance
  • Ensuring care plans and daily documentation are completed to a high standard
  • Promoting good practice and confidently challenging poor practice
  • Conducting bi-monthly one-to-one supervisions with care and support staff
  • Supporting investigations into complaints or concerns as directed by the Home Manager
  • Contributing effectively to handovers and care planning discussions
  • Strong leadership, organisation and attention to detail are essential for this position.


Requirements

  • NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Care Assistant within a residential or nursing home setting
  • Experience completing medication rounds
  • Good understanding of person-centred care planning
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and recognising signs of abuse
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support a team
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Must reside within 30 minutes of the service
