Pay Rate:
£14.39 - 16.13 per hour (Inclusive of Holiday Pay)
Working Hours:
31.25 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8:30am - 3:15pm (30 min lunch)
Term Time

Enhanced DBS Certificate required - Candidates must hold a valid Enhanced DBS

The Role

PPM Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Art Technician on behalf of a well-established school. This is a term-time-only position supporting the Art Department in delivering an efficient and effective technical support service in line with school objectives, policies and procedures.

This opportunity would suit someone organised, creative and proactive, with the ability to support both staff and students in a busy educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing materials and equipment for lessons, demonstrations, examinations and assessments
  • Assisting teaching staff during lessons and exams as required
  • Preparing art-based resources and class materials
  • Coordinating bulk photocopying for whole-class use
  • Managing storage, maintenance and minor repair of equipment
  • Maintaining and updating equipment inventory records
  • Ordering and monitoring stock levels of materials
  • Checking deliveries and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Ensuring security of materials, laptops, cameras and departmental equipment
  • Maintaining clean, safe and organised classrooms and work areas
  • Supporting the storage of student projects (completed and in-progress work)
  • Maintaining and updating art displays
  • Preparing student work professionally for moderation and exhibitions
  • Carrying out routine and ad-hoc Health & Safety checks
  • Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation

Requirements

  • Knowledge or background in Art
  • Understanding of Health & Safety within an educational setting
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently
  • Basic ICT capability
  • Understanding of stock/resource management
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills
