Summary
Short Description:
The role requires studying towards a professional accountancy qualification. A study package and time off will be given to achieve the required qualification. The expected time to complete the examinations and associated experience is 3 years.
In additional to the technical areas, the training programme will offer experience in 5 essential areas:
1. Ethics and professionalism
2. Stakeholder relationship management
3. Strategy, innovation and sustainable value creation
4. Governance, risk and control
5. Leadership and management
Full Description:
The responsibilities will be separated into the following technical areas:
Business Reporting and Management Accounting
· Posting other month end journals and managing suspense accounts (eg payroll / travel costs)
· Reconcile bank statements and monthly accounts.
· Preparation of balance sheet reconciliation accounts
· Post month end journals and manage associated accounts as required.
· Work on fixed asset module, capitalising assets, reconciliation, posting depreciation.
· Monthly analytical review of P&L vs budget, forecast and prior.
Audit and Assurance
· Involvement in statutory and internal audit cycles
Transactional Accounting
· Communicate with vendors and resolve discrepancies in invoices or payments
Taxation
· Involvement in statutory tax computation
· Exposure to VAT Returns for UK, and quarterly return for Switzerland
Other – Data/Digital/Technology
· Support senior accountants and financial managers with various tasks including preparing budgets, keeping records, and other ad hoc tasks.
· Wider Finance Processes – as needed
General requirements & expectations
