Summary


We’re looking for a compassionate, skilled Day Surgery Nurse to join our fast‑paced and patient‑focused day surgery unit. You’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality perioperative care, supporting patients through pre‑assessment, admission, recovery, and discharge.

This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys short‑stay patient pathways, and values teamwork and efficiency. Blyth theatres specialises in obstetrics and gynaecological surgery. We have 3 theatres 2 are for elective surgery and 1 for emergency surgery.


• Provide safe, evidence‑based nursing care throughout the day surgery journey
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments and ensure patients are fully prepared for procedures
• Assist with admissions, patient education, and discharge planning
• Monitor patients recognising and responding to changes in condition
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold clinical governance standards
• Contribute to a positive, supportive, and patient‑centred environment
