Are you a Domestic Gas Engineer keen to move into the Commercial Sector?
We’re working with a respected mechanical services company that is keen to support an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer who is looking to retrain and build a long-term career within the commercial sector.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Gas Engineer with at least 3 years’ domestic experience who wants to expand their skillset, gain hands-on commercial exposure, and achieve Commercial ACS certification to become fully Gas Safe registered for commercial work. The successful Gas Engineer will receive structured support, funded qualifications, and ongoing professional development.
The Opportunity
As a Gas Engineer, you will join an established and supportive team, working on a range of commercial projects while developing your technical expertise. This Gas Engineer role offers long-term stability, genuine career progression, and the opportunity to build a strong portfolio of commercial experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with and carry out plant room installations and system upgrades
- Perform planned preventative maintenance across commercial sites
- Diagnose and repair faults on gas and heating systems
- Ensure all work complies with current regulations and industry best practice
- Maintain high levels of customer service and professionalism
- Build a portfolio of relevant, documented on-site commercial work
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Domestic Gas Engineer
- Strong background in servicing, maintenance, and fault finding
- Willingness to retrain and complete Commercial ACS qualifications
- Evidence of a portfolio of relevant, documented work
- Commitment to developing into a Commercial Gas Engineer
- Full UK driving licence, CSCS card, and clear DBS
Salary & Benefits
- Salary up to £50,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
- Full support with Commercial ACS certification and further training

- 32 days’ paid holiday including bank holidays plus your birthday off
Additional holiday day for every four years of service
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Participation in an on-call rota (one week in seven)
