Fabric Technician

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Fabric Technician to join our facilities management team for a long-term temporary contract. This role is essential for maintaining building standards and ensuring a high-quality environment through both planned and reactive maintenance.

Role Overview
  • Pay Rate: £16.75 an hour

  • Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00 - 17:00).

  • Start Date: 02/03/2026.

  • End Date: 23/05/2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planned & Reactive Maintenance: Complete all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checks and respond swiftly to reactive repair tasks.

  • Structural Repairs: Inspect and repair floors, walls, windows, and doors, including both free-standing and fitted furniture.

  • Painting & Decorating: Execute painting and decorating tasks across the site as required to maintain high aesthetic standards.

  • General Site Support: Assist engineering staff with a wide range of duties as designated by the management team.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records including maintenance logs, safety reports, and quality documentation.

  • Resource Management: Effectively manage consumable stock, tools, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Requirements
  • Experience: Proven background as a Painter and Decorator with proficiency in various painting techniques and methods.

  • Versatility: Ability to perform broader fabric maintenance and handyman-based tasks; previous plastering experience is highly advantageous.

  • Safety Conscious: Fully conversant with all relevant Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements and their effective application on-site.
