About Us
Nottingham Central Women’s Aid (NCWA) is a registered charity dedicated to protecting women and children from domestic abuse. We are committed to ending violence against women and girls through safe accommodation, intervention programmes, and recovery support.
We are now seeking to recruit for the following post:

Domestic Support Assistant within our emergency refuge accommodation.
• Hours: Full and part-time (16+) hours available.
• Salary: £12.21 per hour £23,492 (FTE)
• Location: Emergency refuge accommodations in Nottingham City
• Contract: Permanent (subject to future funding)
Role Overview
Domestic Assistant will be responsible for providing a clean and safe environment for our service users, staff and volunteers. Working to high standards and ensuring compliance with infection control procedures, COSHH and other relevant policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for DIY and decorating, coupled with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable families. Your role will be crucial in ensuring our environments are safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. You'll work within both communal and dispersed accommodation settings.
The post holder will provide a wide range of cleaning and domestic services each weekday and be key in supporting staff and service users to maintain the highest levels of hygiene and safety in the communal accommodation.
Working in accommodation for women and children who have experienced domestic or sexual violence and abuse, the post holder will be flexible, adaptable and capable of working with minimum supervision. They will be professional and approachable building positive relationships with both staff and residents. They must be prepared to manage a wide range of duties inside and outside the buildings and will be able to work within a strict confidential and safeguarding environment.
This post will be subject to relevant Disclosure and Barring Scheme checks and it is an Occupational Requirement that applications are open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1, of the Equality Act 2010.
