The business is a UK-based information security company specialising in Cyber Essentials certification and Penetration Testing.

Through the development of innovative compliance and security monitoring products, the company has grown it’s client base to more than 500, which includes multinational organisations like AECOM.

With continued business growth, they are seeking a Cyber Essentials Basic Assessor to join the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing client organisations to the Cyber Essentials standard, offering practical, friendly advice and placing quality at the heart of everything they do.

This role is office based in Maryport, Cumbria on the edge of the Lake District National Park.

Your new job:

Assess Cyber Essentials submissions.
Provide clear, actionable feedback to clients.
Stay informed of any updates or changes to the Cyber Essentials scheme and its criteria.
Engage in continuous training and professional development to maintain assessor credentials.
Conduct support calls relating to Cyber Essentials.
Conduct external vulnerability scanning for clients.

Proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for cyber security and helping organisations enhance their digital resilience.
You are a skilled communicator, capable of breaking down complex cyber security concepts into clear, understandable terms for clients at all levels.
You are committed to continuous learning and staying current with industry trends, best practices, and evolving regulatory requirements.
Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK

Technical skills:

At least 3 years of experience in IT-related roles.
Certified Cyber Essentials Assessor qualification or willingness to achieve the qualification funded by Indelible Data.
Understanding of cyber security principles and the Cyber Essentials framework.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple assessments at once.

Salary and benefits:

Starting salary of £28,532 per annum.
Opportunity for career progression to become a Cyber Essentials Plus assessor and eventually a Penetration Tester.
Funded training and exams.
25 Days holiday plus Bank Holidays and three days paid leave during the company Christmas Shutdown.
6% workplace (NEST) pension contribution
