Summary
Sous Chef looking to grow in to Head Chef role
Embark on an exciting culinary journey as the Sous Chef at our stunning Hotel near Southampton. This permanent role offers a competitive salary of £35,000 per year plus Tronc/Service Charge and a unique opportunity to progress to the coveted position of Head Chef, as the current Head Chef will shortly take on a group-level role in the near future.
Immerse yourself in a vibrant kitchen, crafting fresh, locally-sourced British dishes and international cuisine for our discerning guests.
Become a key member of the senior management team, working closely with the Head Chef to lead and mentor a talented team of junior chefs.
Contribute to the hotel's renowned offerings, including our popular Afternoon Teas, Weddings, and Banqueting events.
Preferred Requirements:
Extensive experience as a Sous Chef, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional culinary experiences.
Expertise in working with fresh, local ingredients and a passion for creating both British and international cuisine.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor a team of chefs.
Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
A collaborative mindset and the willingness to work as part of a dynamic, senior management team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal culinary training or a recognised qualification in the culinary arts.
Extensive experience in a similar Sous Chef role, preferably within a high-end hotel or restaurant setting.
A deep understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.

Starting Salary of £35k
45 Hours per week
Paid overtime
Tronc/Service Charge of £1000 - £3000 per year
