Graduate Environmental Advisor
£30,000
Faraday Office Park BasingstokeWe Care.... and if you are concerned about the environment and what’s going on around you - we have a lot in common!
If you’re at your best out on site, talking to engineers, spotting risks before they become problems, and helping put practical solutions in place, this could be the role for you.
We’re looking for a graduate-level, field-based Environmental Advisor to support the delivery of environmental excellence across our projects. This is not a desk-based sustainability strategy role — it’s about being present, visible, and influential where it really matters, out on site.
You’ll be supporting projects through design, construction, and reinstatement, helping our teams stay compliant, minimise environmental impact, and continuously improve how we work.
Here are some of things you'll be involved with...
- Supporting site-based environmental assessments and producing practical environmental management plans
- Working alongside operational teams to ensure work complies with legal, regulatory, and company requirements
- Assisting with inspections and audits in line with ISO 14001, permits, and environmental legislation, identifying issues early and helping implement corrective actions
- Supporting incident management and helping ensure lessons are learned and embedded in operational practice
- Monitoring environmental performance and translating data into meaningful actions for project teams
- Engaging confidently with colleagues, clients, and regulators to provide clear and practical advice
- Promoting environmental best practice and encouraging smarter, more responsible ways of working
We’d love to hear from you if...
You are a recent graduate with a degree in an environmental discipline, with a keen interest in applying your knowledge in a practical, hands-on environment. While previous work experience in civil engineering, construction, or utilities is desirable, we are open to candidates who have relevant internships, placements, or project experience demonstrating an understanding of environmental legislation and field application.
You will be proactive, curious, and confident engaging with operational teams. You should have the ability to spot risks, challenge practices constructively, and contribute practical solutions to improve environmental outcomes.
A genuine interest in protecting the environment through action, not theory, is essential. Membership or desire to progress towards professional accreditation such as IEMA, CIWEM, IES, or CIWM would be advantageous.
This role is predominantly field-based, so a full UK manual driving licence is essential.
Who this role is ideal for
✔ Someone who enjoys being out on site and working closely with operational teams.
✔ Someone who likes solving real-world problems in real time.
✔ Someone who prefers practical delivery over corporate sustainability strategy.
If you’re looking for a purely office-based sustainability or policy role, this isn’t the right fit, but if you want to make a tangible difference on live projects and see the impact of your advice every day, we’d love to hear from you.
** We are not able to offer sponsorship with this role
