Join Our High-Performing Security Team

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to join our proactive security team, committed to maintaining the highest standards and creating a safe environment for everyone who works, visits, or stays within our facilities.

As part of our team, you will deliver a comprehensive 24/7 frontline security service across the organisation.

No prior security experience is required—we provide full, comprehensive training to the right candidate.

In this role, you will:
• Prevent and detect crime and anti-social behaviour.
• Ensure the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors on Trust premises.
• Protect Trust property and assets.
• Respond promptly to all security and fire alerts.

You will primarily be based at one of the Trust’s hospitals, with occasional duties at the other site as required.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include safeguarding our patients, staff, and visitors while maintaining a secure environment across our sites. Responsibilities include:
• Assisting in the prevention of crime and anti-social behaviour.
• Conducting proactive internal and external patrols.
• Securing buildings and performing general car park duties.
• Responding to emergency incidents, including fire alarms.
• Managing challenging situations involving patients or members of the public in a calm and professional manner.
What We’re Looking For

You will demonstrate a professional, logical approach to your work, showing initiative and a positive, “can-do” attitude. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding role that requires resilience, the ability to work under pressure, and the capacity to remain calm in challenging circumstances.
Role Details
• Contract:Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
• Annual Leave:Starting at 27 days plus 8 bank holidays.
• Location:Preston and Chorley Hospital sites.
• Shift Pattern:4-on, 4-off rotating shifts, covering all operational hours, including nights and weekends.
• Enhancements:Unsocial hours and weekend enhancements apply.

As a Band 3 Security Officer working this pattern, you can expect to earn up to£33,000 per year, with additional opportunities for overtime on an ad hoc basis

Core Responsibilities
• Communicate effectively with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, visitors, and colleagues.
• Maintain and continually develop professional competencies.
• Support the training and development of other team members.
• Adhere to all health, safety, fire, and security legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Undertake “Bedside Security” duties to assist clinical staff when required.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to all security and fire-related incidents.
• Carry out regular security patrols and associated duties.
• Assist with the day-to-day management of car parking across Trust property.
• Proactively manage crime prevention and security incidents.
• Ensure accurate handling and protection of data and information resources.
• Contribute to reducing security-related incidents across the organisation.
