Prospero Teaching is looking for confident and motivated Unqualified Teachers to work across secondary schools in Southampton. This role is an excellent stepping stone for those considering teacher training or a long-term career in education.
You will lead classes in the absence of the regular teacher, deliver pre-planned lessons, and ensure students remain focused and engaged throughout the school day. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth-work professionals, or anyone with strong classroom or mentoring experience.

The Role:
Deliver pre-planned lessons as the lead adult in the classroom
Supervise and support students across KS3 and KS4
Keep pupils engaged, on task, and following lesson objectives
Manage behaviour in line with school policies
Provide cover for a variety of subjects with all resources supplied
Support learning, answer questions, and maintain a positive learning environment
Work flexibly across departments depending on daily needs
Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with young people (school, coaching, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, etc.)
Confident leading a classroom and managing behaviour
Adaptable, reliable, and able to think on your feet
Strong communication and organisational skills
Graduates or aspiring teachers highly encouraged to apply
Comfortable delivering work across a range of subjects
Contract Details:
Position: Unqualified Teacher
Location: Southampton
Start: ASAP
Working Pattern: Full-time or day-to-day
Pay: Up to GBP130 per day
Key Stages: KS3 & KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
Experience with children or young people is essential
Classroom or behaviour management experience desirable
Safeguarding training (available if needed)
Eligibility:
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
