I’m Dan, and I’ve been working closely with primary schools for the past two years, supporting them with their recruitment needs. I’m currently working with a number of schools in Basildon who are looking for flexible Sports Coaches / Teaching Assistants to provide PE support, classroom assistance, and general cover across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. This role is ideal for those seeking day-to-day, short-term, or ongoing work, depending on availability.

The Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant role involves delivering and supporting PE lessons, leading small group activities, supporting pupils one-to-one where required, and assisting the class teacher with learning activities. You will help to create a positive and inclusive environment both in the classroom and during physical activities, while supporting behaviour in line with school policies. Working hours are typically 8:30am to 3:30pm.

The successful Sports Coach / Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children in a school, coaching, or educational setting

  
  

• A confident and enthusiastic approach to sport and physical activity

  
  

• The ability to support learning and behaviour in the classroom

  
  

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

  
  

• The ability to adapt quickly to new environments and routines

  
  

• A reliable and professional attitude

  
  

• An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
