Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full-time Health Improvement Advisor's to join the maternity teams at Queen Charlotte and Chelsea and St, Mary's hospital to support our smoking cessation program for patients and staff.
The Health Improvement Advisors will be responsible for supporting the development of a pregnancy smoking cessation service and delivering the service along with the community based smoking cessation services.
The Health Improvement Advisors will work closely with the Trust Health Improvement team to engage and deliver a supportive program for staff in the Trust.
• Seek out opportunities to develop, encourage, and implement health improvement interventions, including smoking cessation, in different hospital wards
• Act as the Smoke-Free staff champion for the Trust, using timely evidence-based practices to help patients stop their tobacco use both during their hospital stay and beyond
• Engage and support partnership working with agencies who are delivering smoking cessation services and other health improvement interventions in the community, to ensure our patients can continue to receive support after being discharged from our service
• Promote the general health and wellbeing of people who use the service through offering healthy lifestyle advice and support
• Work with minimal supervision operating within the assessed level of competence and being accountable for all aspects of own work
