Your New Role


As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll play a key role in helping pupils regulate their emotions, build positive relationships, and engage successfully with learning.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored one‑to‑one support to pupils with behavioural, emotional, or social needs
  • Helping pupils develop self‑regulation strategies and positive coping skills
  • Supporting engagement in lessons and encouraging positive participation
  • Building strong, trusting relationships that promote confidence and resilience
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SEND team to implement support plans
  • Using restorative approaches to help pupils reflect, repair, and move forward
  • Keeping clear records of progress and communicating regularly with staff and families

This role is ideal for someone who is calm, patient, and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and thrive both academically and personally.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural or emotional needs, or a strong willingness to learn
  • A compassionate, patient, and positive approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and model positive behaviour
  • A proactive, flexible attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
