Summary
The post holder will support in the delivery of the ECT service across the boroughs and provide clinical advice to professional colleagues in the services, leading, teaching, supervising and supporting junior colleagues.
Support in developing the service and ensuring the delivery of the ECT service, ensuring that itmeets accepted quality and safety standards in accordance with National and Local guidelines.
Take a lead role in evaluation, research and accreditation of the ECT service Trust wide. Participate in the running and the ongoing development of the Depot, Clozapine and Physical Health Check Clinics for the CMHT. Added to this will be the support of service users within
secondary care services, providing physical health care monitoring and support, focusing on medication and its effects.
Working with both Care Programme Approach and Non-CPA patients as per Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust policy, completing relevant Care Documentation as required, particularly in preparation for transfer into Care Coordination.
Ensuring the highest standard of nursing care provided in accordance with the policies and procedures of Pennine Care NHS Trust.
Working across hospital and community settings, promoting continuity of care and effective
The post holder will have a clinical knowledge of relevant medications and side effects and have a keen interest in physical health and health promotion for SMI patients.
Actively participate in the day to day resource management of ECT delivery across the boroughs in conjunction with Operational Management Leads. Co-ordinate the anaesthetic and psychiatric medical cover for the department. Administer intramuscular injections, monitor the effect of medications, contraindications and side effects and be able to provide accurate information to patients and carers in a
format they are able to understand, in accordance with SOP0031. Work with patients within the CMHT as indicated, participating in the planning, delivery and evaluation of their individual programme of care, to address presenting health and wellbeing needs, in conjunction with any other relevant professionals.
Complete relevant Care Documentation as required, particularly in preparation for transfer into Care Coordination.
