Your new company
A school in north Sheffield is looking for a Finance Officer to start ASAP.This is currently a temporary role with the potential for extension and will be school office based 37 hours per week.

Your new role
In this position, you will provide essential administrative and financial support across a variety of tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing financial processes such as cash banking, procurement of goods and services, and account reconciliation. This will involve handling lettings, processing sales ledger activity, and administering expense payments.
- Overseeing the purchase ledger and ensuring timely and accurate processing of sales invoices.
- Handling a range of telephone and in-person enquiries from students, parents, staff, and contractors, always maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection guidelines.
- You will need to approach sensitive situations with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
- Working closely with students and staff at all levels to support both administrative and finance-related activities.
- Coordinating the administration of school trips, including financial approvals, drafting and issuing trip communications, maintaining trip management software, recording payments, issuing receipts, banking income, processing supplier payments, collecting indemnity forms, and preparing financial summaries.
- Managing payments for vulnerable students and administering payments for trips, stationery, uniform, and other educational resources.
- Acting as deputy to the Administration and Office Manager-providing oversight of administrative functions, including reception, during their absence.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience working in a finance role.Confidence in handling cash and proficiency in bookkeeping and/or accounting tasks.
Experience using financial management systems.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively, alongside excellent ICT capabilities.
Systems experience with SIMS preferred
