We are looking to appointStaff Nurses in District Nursing Service
The post holder will take responsibility for the effective assessment, planning and delivery of skilled nursing care to patients in their own homes or other settings as appropriate under the direction of the caseload manager.
Although the post holder has access to advice he/she is expected to work largely unsupervised. In addition, the post-holder is expected to supervise junior staff, Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurse Associate including student nurses on placement.
• To effectively and efficiently plan and deliver skilled community nursing care to patients using the systematic approach of assessing, planning and implementing and evaluating care working within the district nursing standard for assessing patients.
• To organise own workload, providing a range of community nursing skills and acknowledging any limitations in professional competence, seeking the appropriate training or updating.
• To monitor the quality of own care and that of others involved in the delivery of care, dealing with issues appropriately.
• To engage in health promotion activities with individuals and groups as appropriate.
• To work with patients to maintain effective communication and involvement in care programmes offering support and advice, teaching nursing care that can be safely carried out in the absence of the nurse.
• To ensure that the dignity, religious and cultural beliefs of individual patients are respected and that there is a positive attitude to equal opportunities.
• To actively and constructively comment and contribute to the policies, procedures and guidelines adopted by RFH in order to improve service delivery.
• To participate in standard setting, peer review and clinical audit at all times.
The Enfield Community Service Division has strong partnership links with local Education, Social Care and Voluntary Sector services, Health and Local Authority Commissioning. The post holder will work in partnership with the local authority /School Heads, CAMHS and GP Networks as required.
