Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a young man in my 30’s living in the Rumney area of Cardiff, I have Global Development Delay, low muscle tone and dexterity issues. I am looking to employ up to two PAs to support me in accessing activities that I enjoy, keeping me safe as I am not always of dangers within my surroundings.
I really enjoy playing badminton, table tennis, walking, skittles and especially watching the wrestling as well as my favourite Cardiff City football team, which as a avid fan, I have a season ticket for their home matches.
PURPOSE OF JOB
Supporting me to access activities within the community
PLACE OF WORK
In my local community
HOURS OF WORK
There is flexibility with some hours however, mainly
Mondays 10am – 1.30pm
Sometimes Fridays 11am to 3pm
Alternate Saturdays in the afternoon to watch the football (times to be confirmed)
RATE OF PAY
£14.85 per hour
TASKS INVOLVED
Keeping me safe by supporting and enable me to access activities in the local community.
To support me by way of joining in the activities
To safely take me to and from activities.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
To be mindful of my conditions
To be patient and reliable
To be dependable and punctual
To have a good sense of humour and enjoy some banter.
To adhere to confidentiality
Owner driver is essential
ABOUT THE JOB
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK before you start work. Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you. Support cannot be carried out in the personal assistant’s own home.
