Position Type: Permanent

Work Pattern: 25-30 hours per week, split over 4-5 days (days and times to be agreed).

Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 120 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.

The Grants team is a fast paced and changing service, managing applications and enquiries about grants for older people from professionals, from individuals, their families and loved ones.

The team is responsible for the delivery of this service from initial enquiries and signposting through to preparing grants for authorisation, making grants payments, monitoring, evaluation and service development.

As our Grants Officer, you will provide efficient administration for our grants service for people over state pension age. You will be ensuring grants are processed quickly and accurately, meaning older people are getting the support they need. This includes assessing applications, obtaining missing information, setting up payments of grants, liaising both directly with the applicant and with professional referring agents, responding to enquiries, signposting to other grant makers/support services, and administrating monitoring and evaluation of the grants programme.

We are looking for someone with proven relevant administration experience and of dealing with a range of clients and referrers by email and by telephone. You will have previously used customer relationship management (CRM) systems for data inputting, processing and management and have experience of Microsoft Office.

Experience working in grants administration with knowledge of the grant lifecycle including quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation would be preferable along with previously working with older people and an understating of the issues they may face.

As this role involves a dealing with vulnerable adults, successful applicants will undertake an enhanced DBS check, and any offer of employment will be dependent on a satisfactory outcome.
