Hourly Rate: £14.34
Hours: 37.5 per week
Shifts: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

The Oaks is a purpose-built, 73-bed nursing and residential home offering exceptional facilities, including a coffee shop, hair and nail salon, landscaped gardens, and more. We take pride in creating a safe, welcoming, and luxurious environment where residents can feel truly at home and staff can thrive in their work.
Your Role as a Maintenance Operative
As our Maintenance Operative, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include:
Building Maintenance: Perform routine and ad hoc repairs, decoration, and upkeep of the home and grounds, including minor plumbing and garden maintenance.
System Checks: Conduct regular checks on fire alarms, boilers, lifts, and other essential systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Resource Management: Efficiently manage tools, equipment, and resources, including stock control and ordering.
Health and Safety: Implement and adhere to the Home’s health and safety policies, conducting and documenting regular safety checks.
Team Support: Work closely with other teams, assisting with staff inductions by training them on building layouts and fire safety procedures.
Confidentiality: Ensure all client and business information remains confidential.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in property maintenance, with knowledge of basic plumbing and troubleshooting.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage maintenance issues promptly and independently.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with staff, residents, and external contractors.
Attention to detail, reliability, and a caring, patient attitude.
A full UK driving licence, as occasional collections for the home will be required
