A day in the life of a Murphy Piling Quantity Surveyor
- Aid in the internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
- Prepare Valuations/Applications for Payment with full documentation in accordance with the contract.
- Control of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant documentation.
- Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
- Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring, and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
- Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
- Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements.
- Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
- Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
- Drafting of subcontracts including professional services.
- Daily coordination calls with the operations team to review project progress and identify any issues requiring escalation, supporting effective reporting in the fast‑paced environment of piling projects.

- HND/Degree qualification
- Proven experience within a Commercial role i.e., Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, or a similar role
- Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract, NEC and JCT
- Managing the commercial aspects of multiple piling projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong multitasking abilities and the agility to respond quickly to changing project requirements
