We are a growing micro-business specialising in high-end bespoke candle
manufacturing for B2B clients. We are seeking a Warehouse & Production
Operative to join our team at a pivotal stage in our development. This is a
hands-on, dual-focus role that requires both precision craftsmanship and the
organised handling of day-to-day warehouse operations.
The ideal candidate will have a background in the home fragrance industry
and a strong commitment to maintaining the high standards our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Quality Control
- Manufacturing: Assist with the end-to-end production process, including vessel preparation, precise wicking, and controlled wax pouring.
- Finishing: Perform post-pour checks and finishing (wick trimming, surface levelling) to ensure every product is retail-ready.
Branding: Apply labels and CLP documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Warehouse & Logistics
- Order Fulfilment: Accurately pick and pack B2B orders, ensuring all items are securely palletised or boxed for transit to prevent damage.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of raw materials (wax, fragrance, glass) and finished goods; assist with regular inventory audits.
- Goods In: Receive and organise bulk deliveries, ensuring the warehouse remains tidy, safe, and accessible.
Workspace Standards & Maintenance
- Equipment Hygiene: Maintain a clean and organised production environment, including the thorough cleaning of wax melters and tools between scent batches to prevent cross-contamination.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure work surfaces and floors are kept clear of wax and debris to maintain a safe, professional working environment.
Requirements
- Experience: Previous experience in candle making or the home fragrance sector is preferred, though we will consider candidates with strong transferable skills in precision manufacturing or assembly.
- Operational Precision: A meticulous approach to labelling, packing, and quality control.
- Physical Capability: The role can be physically active and involves standing for extended periods and heavy lifting.
- Professionalism: High levels of reliability and the ability to work efficiently within a small, focused team.
Why Join Us?
- Room for Growth: We are an ambitious business with a clear growth trajectory. We are looking for an individual who wants to grow with us; as the company scales, there is significant room for this role to evolve into a senior production or warehouse lead position.
- Training & Progression: We actively encourage internal progression and provide ongoing training in manufacturing techniques and operational workflows.
- Impact: As a key member of a micro-team, your input on improving warehouse efficiency and production processes will be highly valued and implemented.
