Darlington Borough Council is seeking to appoint a Street Orderly to help maintain the cleanliness of streets across Darlington and the Town Centre.

As part of the Environmental Services team, the role of Street Orderly plays a key part in keeping our streets clean and safe through litter picking, leaf clearance, weeding and other general maintenance tasks. You will work both independently and as part of a wider team to ensure Darlington remains a pleasant place to live, work and visit.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across a designated area by carrying out a range of street cleansing duties using a street orderly barrow. This includes litter picking, emptying litter bins, removing broken glass, clearing small accumulations of blossom and leaf fall, undertaking manual winter maintenance, and removing weeds by hand.



Applicants must be able to work in accordance with an agreed rota, with working days/hours falling between the hours of 6am to 6pm Monday to Sunday
