Job Title: HGV Driver

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to one of the water industry's most critical challenges while developing your
expertise across data, network operations, and strategic resolution planning. G-Stow is part of the South Staffordshire Group – a
3,000-strong organisation behind South Staffs Water, Cambridge Water, and several leading utility support businesses – offering
long-term development and career progression.
To safely and efficiently deliver goods to customers using an HGV vehicle fitted with a HIAB crane, including the transportation
of hazardous goods in accordance with ADR regulations. The role involves loading, transporting, and offloading materials while
ensuring full compliance with road transport legislation, ADR requirements, health and safety regulations, and company service
standards.
The Role:
* Operate an HGV vehicle (Class 1 or Class 2 as required) safely and professionally.
* Operate a HIAB (lorry-mounted crane) to load and offload materials at customer sites.
* Transport hazardous goods in line with ADR regulations and company procedures.
* Ensure correct labelling, segregation, and documentation for ADR loads.
* Conduct daily vehicle and crane safety checks, reporting defects promptly.
* Ensure all loads are secured safely and comply with legal weight and load restraint regulations.
* Deliver goods accurately and on time
* Complete all relevant paperwork including delivery notes, ADR documentation, tachograph records, and defect reports.
* Adhere to Working Time Directive regulations and driver hours legislation.
* Maintain high standards of customer service as a representative of the company.
* Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe lifting, site risk assessments, and hazardous goods handling
requirements.
* Keep vehicles clean, compliant, and presentable at all times.
What you’ll need:
* Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence.
* Valid Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
* Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
* Valid HIAB certification (e.g., ALLMI or equivalent).
* Valid ADR licence (appropriate categories as required by the business).
* Experience operating a lorry-mounted crane.
* Experience transporting hazardous goods.
* Good understanding of driver hours, road transport, and ADR legislation.
* Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Experience delivering construction materials, fuels, chemicals, or similar regulated products.
* Experience working in multi-drop environments.
