We are recruiting for a Quality Control Inspector to provide support to our QHSE manager.
Health and Safety
• Daily Safety Inspections Shop Floor
• Maintenance of COSHH Records
• Maintenance of Risk Assessments
• Production Permits/RAMS
• Control of PPE
• First Aid
Quality Control:
• Goods Inwards Inspection
• Machine Shop Inspection
• Fabrication Inspection
• Welding Inspection
• Assembly Inspection
• Production of Full Dimensional Reports
• Raising NCR,
• Resolving NCR, Concession Requests, Production Permits.
• Management of Calibration System & Equipment=
• Metrology
• Internal Quality Audits
• Complete Customer Pre-Qualification Documents
Knowledge / Skills & Experience
• Engineering Drawings - Reasonable Knowledge of BS 8888 Technical product specification and documentation example:
o Views and projections
o Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
o Symbols of dimensions
o Dimensional tolerances
o Datums
o Datum targets
o Geometrical specifications
o Projected tolerance zones
o Edge conditions
o Weld symbols
o Surface texture
• Inspection equipment & Use of example
o Plug gauges
o Internal Thread Gauges
o External Thread gauges
o Height gauges
o Micrometres
o Bore Gauges
o Callipers
o Gauge blocks
o Digimatic Indicators
Dial Indicators
Dial Test Indicators
o Surface roughness equipment
o Cam Gauges
o Clamp meter
o Torque Wrenches
o Farro Arm
o CNC CMM
• Goods in Inspection
• In-Process Inspection
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role and environment
• Reasonable knowledge of BS 8888: Technical Product Specification all sections Preferred, i.e. reading technical drawings including welding symbols.
• Prior experience using relevant inspection equipment is essential e.g.
o Surface Roughness Tester
o CNC CMM, Faro Arm, Faro Laser or equivalents
• BS EN ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor Qualified; Lead Auditor Preferred.
