An optical assistant plays a crucial role in supporting optometrists and dispensing opticians in various healthcare settings.
Key responsibilities include:
Customer Service: Assisting customers with eyewear selection, fitting, and providing information on eye health and vision care.
Administrative Duties: Managing appointments, maintaining patient records, and handling administrative tasks such as stock management and order processing. Making phone calls and booking appointments.
Healthcare Support: Preparing patients for eye examinations, conducting preliminary tests, and ensuring a smooth patient experience for which training will be provided.
Skill Development: Gaining knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and possibly completing a nationally recognised qualification in dispensing.
This role is essential for ensuring high-quality eye care and customer satisfaction in our family orientated optometry practices.
