Transport Planner (Containers)
Location: Leeds

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner (Containers) to join our Client who are based in Leeds.
This is a critical role focused on ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of containerised goods while delivering exceptional service to their customers.
It is essential that applicants have experience the container along with container planning and both Rail and Port Terminal VBS systems.

Key Responsibilities
• Plan and coordinate daily container transport operations
• Manage port and rail terminal bookings using various VBS systems
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations and operational procedures
• Liaise effectively with drivers, customers, ports, and rail terminals
• Monitor operational performance and optimise vehicle utilisation
• Maintain accurate records using TOPPS and other transport systems
• Proactively resolve operational issues and manage client expectations
• Provide occasional weekend operational support when required

Requirements
• Proven experience in transport planning within the container sector (essential)
• Strong working knowledge of Port and Rail Terminal VBS systems
• Previous experience with TOPPS (container transport system)
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage expectations professionally
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong IT skills with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with a collaborative, team-focused approach and professional working environment

Hours: Monday–Friday, 10 hours per day between 6:00am–6:00pm
(1 in 3 weekends required which is paid at overtime rate)
Salary
An annual salary of between £32,000 - £36,000 will be offered based upon experience, plus overtime for weekends.
