Your new company
A leading organisation with a large and diverse estate is looking for an experienced Building Services Engineer to join their Estates/Facilities Engineering team. You will play a key role in ensuring the effective operation, performance and compliance of their heating and chilled water systems across multiple buildings.
Your new role
As a Building Services Engineer specialising in heating and chilled water systems, you will be responsible for the planned maintenance, statutory compliance and ongoing operation of wet heating and cooling systems throughout the estate.Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing planned maintenance programmes for heating and chilled water systems, including pumps, strainers, valves, pipework and water treatment.
- Overseeing contractors to ensure work is delivered to agreed standards, timescales and budgets.
- Maintaining and updating asset registers and verifying compliance documentation.
- Using the BMS as a key diagnostic tool for system monitoring, performance optimisation and problem‑solving.
- Acting as the escalation lead for mechanical issues linked to heating and chilled water systems.
- Delivering reactive maintenance, minor works and long‑term improvement projects.
- Liaising with stakeholders, consultants and approving bodies to define work requirements and resolve technical issues.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience as a Heating Engineer or Building Services Engineer, with strong knowledge of commercial heating, chilled water plant and water treatment processes.Relevant qualifications in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related mechanical discipline.
Good understanding of mechanical compliance, PPM schedules, reactive works and minor project delivery.
Knowledge of British Standards, Building Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
Familiarity with project procedures and the construction process.
Ability to diagnose and improve system performance using a BMS.
A proactive, self‑motivated and results-driven approach.
