Summary

Our client, a leading youth development organisation in Oldham, Greater Manchester, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-time Youth Mentor to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people in the local community.

As a Part-time Youth Mentor, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and mentorship to a diverse group of young individuals, aged 11-18, living in the Oldham area. Your role will involve engaging with these young learners, understanding their unique needs and challenges, and developing tailored strategies to help them reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of the issues facing young people, and a genuine passion for making a difference. You will be required to work closely with the client's dedicated team of youth workers, social workers, and community leaders to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to supporting the young people in your care.

Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and counselling to young individuals, addressing their personal, academic, and social challenges
- Facilitate group workshops and activities that promote personal growth, leadership skills, and positive decision-making
- Collaborate with the client's wider team to develop and implement comprehensive support plans for each young person
- Maintain detailed records and documentation to track the progress and development of the young people under your care
- Liaise with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to supporting the young people
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and evidence-based approaches in Youth Mentorship and development

Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications in youth work, social work, psychology, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Youth Mentorship or community-based role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on empowering young people
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of the young people in your care
- A valid driving licence and access to a car would be an advantage
