What skills and experience we're looking for

Key Stage 2–specific skills and attributes:

• Strong subject knowledge across the KS2 curriculum, including age‑related expectations in reading, writing and maths.
• Confidence in assessing learning using a range of formative and summative strategies to identify next steps.
• Ability to plan and deliver high quality, well‑sequenced lessons that support progression across KS2.
• Experience in preparing pupils for statutory KS2 assessments/SATs.
• Skill in adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND, EAL and higher attaining pupils.
• Confidence in using educational technology to enhance learning and engagement.
• Ability to create a positive, engaging and well‑managed learning environment that promotes independence and resilience.
• Strong interpersonal skills enabling positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Understanding of how to develop wider learning skills such as oracy, critical thinking, collaboration and problem‑solving.
• Commitment to delivering a broad, balanced and creative curriculum that excites and inspires pupils.
