Escape Recruitment are working with a well-established manufacturing business in Stirling to recruit an Electrical Controls & Reliability Engineer. This is a key role within the maintenance and reliability function, focused on improving equipment uptime, reducing downtime, and protecting critical plant assets through robust controls and automation.

The Role

You will play a hands-on role in improving the reliability of electrical and control systems across site. Working closely with Maintenance, Engineering and Production teams, you will use data, fault analysis and controls optimisation to drive long-term improvements in plant performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Improving reliability of PLC, SCADA and automation systems
  • Investigating recurring faults and leading root cause analysis
  • Analysing trends and equipment data to prevent failures
  • Supporting maintenance teams with complex electrical and controls faults
  • Optimising alarms, interlocks and protection logic
  • Supporting projects, upgrades and commissioning activities
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for control systems and networks

What We're Looking For

  • Background in Electrical Engineering, Controls or Automation (HNC/HND or Degree)
  • Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong PLC and automation experience (Siemens and or Allen Bradley)
  • Comfortable fault-finding electrical, instrumentation and control systems
  • Experience carrying out root cause analysis and reliability improvement work
  • Confident working cross-functionally with Maintenance and Production teams

Desirable:

  • Experience in continuous process, heavy industry, FMCG, timber, paper, or similar
  • Exposure to condition monitoring, drives, or asset reliability programmes
  • Knowledge of functional safety or industrial safety standards

Why Apply

  • Site-based role with real influence on plant performance
  • Opportunity to work on reliability improvement rather than just firefighting
  • Stable, well-invested manufacturing environment
  • Supportive engineering and maintenance culture
