Summary


Band 3 - Interventional Radiology HCA (SeniorRadiographic Department Assistant)

The Interventional Radiology (IR) department at Aintree has a vacancy for a band 3 HCA for a full time post.

This role will involve working in the whole IR department including the CT and Ultrasound areas.

This job role involves wearing lead aprons and assisting in patient transfers within and outside of the IR department.

The job role will include pre andpost-procedure care, aiding interventional staff in patient care throughout the whole patient journey.

The job role involves working in all areas of the Aintree IR assisting in all elements of patient care including patient procedures and recovery care (inc NEWs). IR procedures are often carried out with x-ray guidance therefore staff must wear lead aprons (PPE) during these cases

This role involves cannulation and venopuncture within the the IR department and also the IR clinic setting.

To carry out all required forms of care with direct supervision

Tomaintain a high standard of patient care, assisting in the provision of optimum safety


Report to medical staff on condition of patient


To assist the Radiologists, Radiographers and Nursing staff working in the interventional area.


To liaise and co-operate with other members of the multidisciplinary Directorate team


To maintain an up to date knowledge of all Radiological procedures


Responsible for performing stock control for the interventional area.


Assist in ensuring all equipment is maintained in working condition and used in a proper manner


Ensure confidentiality of patients records at all times

The post holder will also perform any duties delegated to them by the IR team
