• Organise and review the delivery of care, including health, nutrition, support, infection prevention, and control procedures, promoting independence and maintaining high standards.
• Manage medication safely and effectively, including storage, administration, recording, auditing, and monitoring staff practice.
• Conduct and document care and risk assessments, developing individualised care plans that reflect the assessed needs and choices of residents.
• Monitor compliance and maintain records, including daily logbooks, MAR charts, audits, and reporting to Head Office as required.
• Identify, monitor, and manage areas of risk, ensuring outcomes are recorded and acted upon in care plans, risk assessments, DoLS, health & safety, fire safety, food hygiene, and maintenance.
• Ensure timely reporting and learning from incidents, writing clear accident/incident reports and integrating remedial actions into care delivery.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care and respond to changes in service users’ health or wellbeing.
• Support service improvement and staff development, conducting audits, facilitating training, and ensuring staff are competent in delivering safe, high-quality care.
• Champion service users’ safety and dignity by placing their wishes, preferences, and wellbeing at the heart of care delivery.
• Provide leadership and support for care teams, supervising staff daily and through formal supervision processes to ensure a positive, high-performing team.
