Minibus Driver – Supporting People Living with Dementia
Location: Manchester | Part-Time | Casual Cover (1–2 shifts per week)
Do you enjoy driving and genuinely love working with people? Would you like to make a real difference in your local community?
We are looking for a caring, reliable Minibus Driver to transport our members living with dementia to and from our Friendship and Activity Groups across Manchester. This is far more than a driving role – you’ll be a friendly face at the start and end of someone’s day, helping them feel safe, valued and connected. Working for TDS really is like being part of a big family.
About the Role
You’ll be responsible for:
Safely collecting members from their homes and returning them after sessions
Providing a warm, supportive and respectful experience during each journey
Ensuring high standards of health & safety at all times
Building positive relationships with members from diverse backgrounds
Shifts are typically 3.5 hours between 9am – 4pm, Monday to Friday. This is a casual position to cover annual leave, usually 1–2 shifts per week. This role would suit a semi retired person or someone looking to work part time alongside other commitments.
About You
You will:
Hold a full driving licence with D1 classification (essential)
Have experience driving a minibus
Demonstrate excellent driving skills and road awareness
Be a confident communicator with a patient, caring nature
Ideally have experience as a carer or working in the community
Enjoy engaging with people and supporting those who may need extra reassurance
This role would particularly suit a semi-retired person or former carer who wants meaningful, flexible part-time work.
What You’ll Bring
Compassion. Reliability. A calm and friendly presence.
Your role will help reduce isolation and ensure our members can continue enjoying vital social activities in a safe and supportive environment.
Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
If you’re someone who wants to drive with purpose and truly make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
