Summary
We are looking for a confident and motivated Dietitian to join our Dietetic and Speech Therapy Team at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Our friendly team consists of 13 Dietitians, 9 Speech & Language Therapists and an administrator.
The successful candidate will provide high quality, evidence based dietetic service to the gastroenterology and medical wards and gastroenterology dietetic outpatient clinics.You will also provide a small dietetic service to the Mental Health Unit wards where you will be a valued member of the multidisciplinary team. The post-holder will also manage a caseload of patients requiring parenteral nutrition and be an integral member of the nutrition team.
In addition to a weekly gastro clinic, the post-holder will run several outpatient group education sessions for irritable bowel disease and coeliac disease and be involved in providing regular training to staff and patients on nutrition related issues.
The Dietetic and Speech Therapy team is committed to continuing professional development, providing monthly professional development sessions. We encourage staff as part of their annual appraisal to have active involvement in audit and service improvement projects. There will also be an opportunity to provide second line cover to other specialist dietitians in areas such as neurorehabilitation, diabetes, and critical care.
The Hillingdon Hospital is a busy district general hospital in North West London and has a diverse patient population. It is situated close to Heathrow Airport and Brunel University and within a 10 minute commute by public transport to Uxbridge Town Centre which has excellent transport links to central London. The Trust has on-site accommodation and a crèche.
