A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.


We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Paediatric Diabetes Patient Navigator and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Coordinator to join our Paediatric Diabetes Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established service that supports the Trusts Paediatric Diabetes Team. We use information systems including clinical systems such as Lorenzo.

The main duties includeworking with the CYP Diabetes Team, providing support to the Clinical Nurse Specialists, to ensure timely care and optimal waiting list management for all patients & their parents/carers referred to the CYP Specialist Diabetes Team.



Applicants must possess a good standard of education and ideally have experience in working within the NHS in an administrative role. The post holder must be able to evidence:
• Ability to work within a team framework
• Accurate data entry skills
• Good organisational and administration skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all time
• Ideally have experience of working in the NHS, ideally with knowledge of local and national KPIs





We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay
