More detail about the role Working within a multidisciplinary and multi-agency framework, you will collaborate closely with cardiology, genetic/genomic services, and coronial services and other regional partners to embed this pathway across the Peninsula. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating care for bereaved families at a highly sensitive time Providing specialist counselling and clinical advice Obtaining informed consent for DNA storage and appropriate genomic testing Facilitating access to appropriate cardiac screening Delivering education and guidance to healthcare and other professionals Contributing to service development and regional pathway implementation The successful candidate will bring advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership skills and experience in service development. You will be confident working autonomously while also contributing effectively within a collaborative regional team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to families following sudden cardiac death, ensuring access to recommended investigation, screening and genomic testing where appropriate. About us:The South West Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (SW GMSA) works with partners across the South West Healthcare services to ensure the successful delivery of NHS Englands national genomic strategy. Working in partnership, we work to ensure equity of access to appropriate genetic testing for patients and their families and to ensure the delivery of a patient centred, high-quality and innovation driven genomic medicine service.
