Are you passionate about helping people use technology with confidence?
We are looking for a friendly, proactive Digital Support Technician to join our IT and Digital Learning team. This is a highly user-facing role that bridges the gap between IT support and digital learning, providing practical, hands-on support to staff and students across the college.
This is not a traditional break/fix IT role. Instead, you’ll focus on enabling confident, effective use of digital systems, platforms, and devices in both learning and administrative environments.
About the role
As a Digital Support Technician, you will be a visible and approachable presence across the college, offering in-person support, digital guidance, and practical solutions. You will help staff and students make the most of systems such as Microsoft 365, the VLE, ProSuite platforms, and other college technologies.
You’ll deliver 1:1 support, digital drop-ins, and informal training, create clear and accessible user guides, and work closely with colleagues in IT and Digital Learning to improve the overall digital experience. You’ll also support classroom technology, digital skills development, immersive learning technologies (including VR), and the college’s transition to AI and automated workflows.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, approachable, and motivated, with a genuine interest in digital learning and user experience.
Essential:
At least 1 year’s experience in an IT or digital support role, or a relevant college/university IT qualification
Familiarity with Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based applications
Experience creating or editing digital content (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to organise and prioritise your workload independently
A positive, proactive, and collaborative approach
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Experience working in an educational environment
Experience developing e-learning or digital learning materials
Experience administering Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, or learning platforms such as Turnitin or ProPortal
An interest in esports or gaming, with opportunities to support student clubs

We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment. We have signed the Menopause Pledge, are a Disability Confident Committed employer, and offer a structured induction and supported six-month probationary period. Our coaching culture, supported by in-house Level 5 trained coaches, ensures ongoing personal and professional growth.
Staff enjoy a range of additional benefits, including a TOTUM card for high street discounts, eligibility to apply for a Blue Light Card, free onsite parking, discounted Plumpton wine and courses, free eye tests, a cycle-to-work scheme, and access to the onsite gym.
We actively promote wellbeing and inclusion through regular networking events focused on menopause, LGBTQ+, men’s health, and bereavement, as well as well-attended EDI and Sustainability committees driving positive change. Employees also have access to an Employee Assistance Programme and can take part in staff social events at Christmas and in the summer.
If you are ready to make a meaningful impact on students, staff and the future of equine education, we would be delighted to hear from you.
