This is an exciting opportunity to join the Maritime and Aviation Appraisal and Modelling (MAvAM) team, part of the multidisciplinary AMBA division. You’ll contribute to influential modelling and analysis that shapes aviation, maritime, and wider transport policy, working on priority areas such as decarbonisation and airport expansion. The role focuses on forecasting and analysing surface access to UK airports, collaborating closely with internal modelling teams and external partners to deliver robust, high quality evidence for departmental decision making. disciplinary AMBA division. Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

Support the delivery of surface access modelling for Heathrow Airport, contributing to the development, updating, and streamlining of key models.Work with models such as NAAM2, SoSERAS, and SoSERASe, used to assess surface access for airports including Gatwick and Heathrow.Undertake detailed analytical work to enhance, maintain, and apply surface access models, including scenario development, model updates, running forecasts, and analysing outputs.Provide technical input to contractor-delivered work and review modelling outputs to ensure quality, consistency, and robustness.Produce visualisations, dashboards, and graphics to clearly communicate modelling results to a wide audience.Collaborate closely with analytical and policy colleagues to ensure robust, transparent evidence supports decision-making and policy development.
