We are looking for a reliable and proactive Workshop Operative to support the day-to-day operations of our workshops in Thornbury. This role is key to ensuring smooth operational processes and a safe, organised working environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone practical and hands-on who is keen to develop their skills within a mechanical/technical environment.
Key Duties
Receiving and unloading incoming deliveries
Assisting with picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch
Assisting with regular stock checks
Labelling, storing and organising materials and components
Keeping warehouse and workshop areas clean, tidy and organised
Assisting with ad hoc collections and deliveries as required
Supporting workshop engineers with movement of materials and parts
Ensuring responsible waste disposal and recycling
Reporting damaged or missing items
Complying with all Health & Safety policies
Providing general warehouse and facilities support as needed
Skills & Experience
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Proactive mindset with ability to use initiative
Problem-solving ability and independent thinking
Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
Good numeracy and literacy
Comfortable working independently and within a team
Basic IT skills (email, Microsoft Office, stock systems)
Full, clean UK driving licence (essential)
