We are recruiting a Band 7 Orthopaedic Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will provide advanced assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for elective and trauma orthopaedic patients, including early mobilisation, post‑operative progression, and discharge planning. You will work autonomously, using advanced reasoning to manage complex cases and deliver evidence‑based interventions across hip, knee, shoulder, trauma, and spinal pathways.
Candidates must demonstrate confident orthopaedic decision‑making, with significant experience in acute trauma or elective orthopaedics. Strong communication, leadership skills, and effective caseload management are essential, along with the ability to supervise junior staff and support MDT decision‑making. The role offers excellent opportunities for service development and collaborative working with surgical and nursing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Improve post‑operative recovery and patient independence through advanced orthopaedic assessment and rehabilitation across elective and trauma pathways. Expedite safe discharge and optimise ward flow by delivering timely senior clinical decisions, effective early mobilisation, and clear rehabilitation plans. Provide leadership, mentoring, and supervision to Band 5/6 physiotherapists, students, and support staff to strengthen clinical standards and team performance. Drive service development by leading orthopaedic quality improvement initiatives, enhanced recovery pathways, and evidence‑based practice. Support digital transformation by helping optimise new clinical systems, documentation processes, and outcome monitoring. Maintain patient safety by ensuring robust assessment, early recognition of complications, appropriate escalation, and consistent delivery of high‑quality care.
Why Join Us?
Make a significant impact on patients’ surgical recovery, mobility, and independence while improving overall service efficiency. Join a dynamic, skilled multidisciplinary team during an exciting period of development and innovation. Progress professionally in a senior role with opportunities to lead change, shape pathways, and influence clinical outcomes. Work in a supportive, collaborative environment that values expertise, leadership, and high‑quality patient care.
