The Opportunity
We are a leading consultancy delivering engineering and management services across the Utilities, Energy and Infrastructure sectors. As part of our long term strategic partnership with major water clients, we are supporting the delivery of AMP8 (2025–2030) projects under a £5bn framework. To strengthen our delivery capability, we are seeking an experienced ECC Project Manager with essential water sector experience.
The Role This is a contract position, working 40 hours per week on a hybrid basis from Durham.
The role pays circa £40–£50 per hour, depending on experience, on a 12 month rolling contract.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Review contracts and provide informed advice to clients
- Develop detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, and budget
- Coordinate with stakeholders to define objectives and requirements
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control
- Monitor expenditure and introduce cost saving measures where appropriate
- Produce accurate, timely financial and progress reports
- Oversee contract negotiation and administration with contractors and suppliers
- Ensure contractual compliance and delivery within scope and budget
- Resolve issues or disputes arising during project delivery
- Maintain strong communication with clients, regulators, and internal teams
- Provide regular updates and address concerns promptly
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Water or Utilities sector experience – essential
- ECC Project Management experience
- NEC3/NEC4 qualification/accreditation – desirable
- Experience working on site within project delivery environments
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills
