Crynodeb
The oncology specialty doctor role is integral to the provision of safe and timely care to cancer patients, the speciality doctor will be expected to run outpatient clinics alongside a site specific consultant whilst also supporting the Turner Ward inpatient setting and in the nurse led chemotherapy day unit. The post-holder is required to actively participate in the supervision of training of the junior doctor staff and to assist with the rota. The speciality doctor is vital to the continued success of the nurse led telephone triage service which has resulted in increasing numbers of patients presenting to the day unit for urgent oncological review, thus reducing admission via the emergency department. You are expected to be involved in delivering teaching and training of others, developing an innovative and robust Acute Oncology Service and leading an MDT. Candidates who wish to explore other opportunities to work with us would be encouraged to contact us, we would be keen to discuss with interested candidates their other work interests and aspirations to create a job plan that supports everyone in developing a rewarding career ahead.
