About the role

We are seeking to fill an upcoming vacancy for the role of Community Engagement Team Member.

Reporting directly to the Community Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for raising awareness of community safety, delivering informative talks and advice, and fostering partnerships with various community organisations.

In this role, you will engage with a diverse range of community groups, individuals, and organisations to raise awareness of fire safety, cultural awareness and related issues. Through targeted outreach efforts and impactful communication strategies, you will empower community members with the knowledge and resources they need to mitigate risks. Your ability to navigate and respect the unique cultural nuances and needs within Tyne and Wear's diverse communities will be crucial in building trust and fostering meaningful connections.

As a Community Engagement Team Member you will:

• Deliver community safety talks and advice to individuals and community groups.
• Support partnerships with statutory and voluntary community organisations to enable contact with individuals and community groups.

We are seeking a candidate who has demonstrable experience of:

• Supporting events to deliver and promote community safety and recruitment.
• Providing awareness of community safety within targeted community groups.
• Coordinating and facilitating events, conferences or seminars to support community engagement and organisational objectives.
• Providing referrals for Home Fire Risk Assessments and offering additional safety advice.
