Summary
We’re seeking a Venue Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day running of The Engine Room, a rehearsal-led creative space in Wigan dedicated to the development of new theatre and dance work.
This is a hands-on operational role, central to ensuring the venue is safe, welcoming and well managed for resident and visiting artists. The role working collaboratively within a small team and supporting the future growth of the venue’s activity.
The Venue Operations Manager is a new role, central to the smooth, safe and effective running of The Engine Room, a rehearsal-led creative space in Wigan. The role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the building and facilities, ensuring a professional and supportive environment for resident and visiting artists.
The Engine Room is managed by ThickSkin Theatre, an independent producing and touring company based at the venue. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Venue Operations Manager works collaboratively with ThickSkin’s team and external partners to ensure the space is fit for purpose, responsive to artistic activity, and able to support occasional public events alongside the future growth of hires and usage.
