Veterinary Surgeon – Birmingham
Salary up to £85,000 DOE + generous sign-on bonus | No OOH | Excellent CPD | Independent Practice
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, progressive two-branch independent practice in the heart of the West Midlands. This role is ideally suited to a vet with 3–4+ years’ UK small animal experience who is confident performing all routine soft tissue surgeries independently and enjoys a varied, rewarding caseload.
Why this role stands out
You’ll enjoy a truly diverse clinical workload across two well-equipped sites – from first opinion consults and small furry medicine to emergency procedures and advanced orthopaedics – giving you the perfect balance of challenge and professional satisfaction.
One branch operates as a busy 24/7 hospital, fully supported by a dedicated night team, while the second site offers a strong small mammal caseload and a purpose-built orthopaedic suite.
Facilities & equipment
This forward-thinking practice is exceptionally well equipped, featuring:
• Referral-level ultrasound
• Dental X-ray
• Fully equipped orthopaedic theatre
• Separate feline and canine wards and recovery areas
The team
You’ll be joining a collaborative, supportive team of 6 Vets, 4 RVNs, 5 SVNs and a strong client care team, all committed to delivering gold-standard patient care. The practice has a genuine learning culture, with team members currently undertaking certificates in dentistry, cardiology, ultrasonography, Schedule 3 and ECC nursing – and you’ll be actively encouraged and funded to pursue your own interests.
The rota
• Full-time role (part-time considered)
• Flexible 3, 4 or 5-day week
• 1 in 4 Saturdays
• No out-of-hours
The package
• Salary up to £85,000 DOE
• Generous sign-on bonus
• 6 weeks annual leave including bank holidays
• £5,000 CPD allowance with certificate support
• Relocation support available
• Accommodation available if required
• Plus a comprehensive benefits package
This is an ideal opportunity for a confident GP Veterinary Surgeon who wants clinical variety, access to advanced facilities, and genuine support for career progression within a friendly, forward-thinking team.
