We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed part-time Housekeeper to join our multi- disciplinary team within the Critical Care Unit.

The role of the Housekeeper is very diverse but fundamentally the post holder will ensure the ward area is kept well stocked, clean and tidy.

The Housekeeper will be responsible for ordering equipment, reporting faulty equipment and participating in the weekly cleaning schedule. The Housekeeper will support the Nursing Team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness on the Critical Care unit including bed areas, storage areas and equipment.

We currently have a 30-hour part time position available. These hours are flexible over 4 to 5 days: Monday to Friday. Working hours will be discussed at interview.

We require a well motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as a Housekeeper on Critical Care. This role includes the undertaking of daily organisation, stock maintenance, audits and cleanliness of the unit environment.

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K). The Trust provides high quality planned and emergency care, cardiac, critical care, child health, maternity services and intermediate care at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.

The Trust provides over 500 beds and employs over 5,100 members of staff. A comprehensive range of community services is provided across 26 medical centres and schools through our Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership.

We have played, and continue to play, a proactive role in the development of Integrated Care plans across Cheshire & Merseyside and our local Cheshire East and Cheshire West Place-based systems. We believe, and it is the cornerstone of our five-year Trust Strategy, there is the opportunity to progress innovative, responsive and effective care in the best setting for the patient, be it in the hospital or out in the community.

At Mid Cheshire, our mission is to inspire hope and provide unparalleled care for the people and communities of Cheshire, helping them to enjoy life to the fullest.

The role requires scheduled stock counts and ordering the weekly stock for the unit whilst identifying any equipment in short supply or any issues with stock levels liaising with our stores and pre-empting any further delays or issues which may arise.

During deliveries, housekeepers check received items to ensure that they function as expected and report any concerns.

The role involves understanding the unit budget and making sure we are ordering within this budget whilst reviewing specialist equipment which may be required as additional expense.

The role requires someone who is well organised with a good standard of written and verbal communication. Computer skills are an essential part of the job. The ability to work in a team is essential as you will work closely with many professional groups including nursing, procurement and infection control.
