An exciting opportunity has arisen at Millom community hospital for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our nursing team. The successful candidate would be required to play an important Band 3 administrative role to support the ward and district nursing team for 15 hrs per week Monday to Friday,

The successful candidate will be required to work hours that give maximum cover to the unit and there will be a requirement to work more hours one week and less hours others to cover leave and sickness. This would not be more than the contracted 60 hours per month.

The role will involve using the trust IT systems, taking calls and relaying important information to the appropriate persons or department. It will also include uploading important documents and other aspects of administration which can be discussed at interview.

Uploading medical documents

Completing audits

Taking calls and relaying appropriate information to persons or departments

Collecting supplies locally

Using the scheduling system to book visits

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
